We were
really excited to hear that you had chosen our
daughter's photograph as a winner. This was
actually Avianna's first experience playing in
the sand, and by the picture you can tell how
much she enjoyed it!!! My family really looks
forward to our trips to the coast, there is
always something for all of us to do. My husband
and son love to fish and I love to sit back and
take pictures of the three of them having fun!!!
Rockport is very family oriented and is a place
we will be visiting again and again!!!
Thank you so much.............

I am so honored that you
chose my cranes. The photo was taken at Crane
House in March 2006, where my family and I
were blessed to observe these elegant birds. We
have followed the amazing recovery of the
Whooping Cranes and visited the Aransas National
Wildlife Refuge for many years. My family has
retreated to and treasured the Aransas County
area for generations. We love the sea, fishing,
nature, art and seafood; and always include a
stop by Pop’s Bait Stand.
Thank you,
Beverly Doyle, San Antonio, Texas |

Thank you so much for
choosing my photograph! Photography is a hobby
of mine, second only to kayaking and flyfishing.
This is the fourth winter I’ve spent here in my
rv escaping the cold winters in Colorado. I
spend my time kayaking and flyfishing for
Redfish, Sea Trout, Flounder, and Ladyfish. Many
other species can be caught off the jetties and
in the surf. And of course when I’m out there I
always have my camera with me to take pictures
of the spectacular sunrises and sunsets,
hundreds of species of birds, fish that I’ve
caught (I practice catch and release), dolphins,
wildlife, and my furry companion, Missy. The
wildflowers in the early spring, especially the
Bluebonnets, provide many opportunities for
beautiful photographs. I love you, Texas!

Fish Bigger than
Eddie Jr |

We try to visit Rockport for our Family
Vacations during the summer. My 3 year old Eddie
Jr loves to fish, he has his own little
Spiderman fishing rod (with a plastic red fish
at the end), and can be at the pier fishing for
hours. He says "nook mom I caught a 'Red'
Fish"!! & he catches many!!!
Rockport is a summer tradition for my husband's
family. Before his uncle Charlie bought a
a beach house at Copano Bay, they used to camp
at Goose Island, and even before that, his mom
would go to Fulton Beach for one or two weeks at
a time, and spend all day relaxing.
Rockport is a very peaceful, friendly town to
get away from the fast life in Austin, TX.
Beautiful like Austin, but at a pace were no one
is ever in a hurry, and we don't have to wear
watches or cell phones!!! We get to see the
sunsets, sit out at the pier late in the
evening, and fish until all fish are asleep. We
like to watch the sunrise, drink our morning
coffee and at about 7am the dolphins visit the
front of the pier to say good morning.
Rockport is MY Favorite Family Vacation to be w
my/family & friends & we look forward to going
back SOON!!!!!
Thanks Again soo MUCH!!!!
Sincerely,
Nicole Hernandez |
